Planner Intermodal (M/V/X)

Due to our healthy growth strategy and new challenges every day, we are continuing to expand our location Hamme and are looking for a full-time Planner Intermodal (M/V/X) to start as soon as possible.
Job description and your role in our organization
Planning & Capacity Coordination
- You plan the most suitable tank container based on customer and product specifications, taking into account technical requirements, availability, and safety.
- You assess incoming orders for feasibility, particularly in terms of loading and unloading times. Where necessary, you consult with the manager to accept or reject an order.
- In case of deviations, you proactively contact the customer to discuss alternatives.
- You continuously monitor available capacity versus incoming orders and make timely adjustments where necessary.
- Together with the Sales department, you determine the optimal routes and transport combinations.
- You ensure that train and ship bookings are made on time and correctly.
- You pass on orders to the trucking department in full and on time so that journeys can be planned efficiently.
Operational follow-up & quality control
- You monitor the execution of all current transport orders and ensure that everything runs correctly, safely, and according to plan.
- You keep your finger on the pulse: you monitor the progress of the planning and anticipate bottlenecks that could affect future planning in a timely manner.
- You report incidents, delays, or deviations immediately and actively work to find a solution.
- You inform customers correctly, completely, and on time about changes or problems.
- Tracking and tracing our tank containers is part of your daily routine; you consult various platforms to ensure you always have an accurate overview.
Container management & supplier management
- You manage the tank container pool and ensure that each tank container is optimally allocated to the correct customer order.
- You manage subcontractors (such as unloading sites and service providers) and closely monitor their performance.
- You assess, monitor, and discuss the competence of suppliers and services together with the supervisor or team leader.
- In the event of non-conformities, you will assist in recording facts, causes, and improvement measures to prevent recurrence.
Administration & Customer Communication
- You will ensure that all information necessary for correct invoicing—including additional costs—is communicated in a timely manner to both the customer and the administration.
- You communicate clearly, professionally, and proactively with customers, both about daily planning and unexpected situations.
- You are a reliable point of contact who ensures transparency, trust, and continuity in service provision.
Profile
Education
- A secondary education diploma is sufficient for this position.
- Higher education is an added value, but not a requirement.
- More important than your diploma are your motivation, willingness to learn, and relevant skills.
Professional knowledge & certificates
- Knowledge of ADR, RID, and/or IMDG is a strong advantage.
- You are able to work with a Transport Management System (TMS).
- You have a good knowledge of the basic Microsoft Office packages.
Languages
- Dutch and English are an absolute must.
- German and French are a valuable plus.
